ZAMUN

Six current students of EGMT and one former student participated at Zilina Model United Nations 2024 (ZAMUN) from 11th-13th April.

It is a larger and more international conference than our MarMUN, with delegates from several other European countries, including Finland, Luxembourg, Germany and Poland, also attending.

Pavol Tomica acted as President of the Security Council, which attempted to solve the current crisis in Myanmar. Adam Samuel Marko (representing Bangladesh), Rastislav Hvizdak (Indonesia) and Nina Kmeťová (South Africa) were delegates to the council.

Lukáš Měrka represented Uzbekistan at the Human Rights Council and Ivan Nechala represented Saudi Arabia at the Economic and Social Council.

Last year’s graduate Michal Kisel represented the USA at the Security Council, and his experience and reassuring presence were appreciated by our current students.

All were excellent representatives, and we have successes to report : Adam Samuel Marko was awarded ‚best delegate‘ for his work at the Security Council and ‚outstanding delegate‘ for his efforts at the General Assembly. Lukáš Měrka was given an ‚honourable mention‘ for his performance on the Human Rights Council.

Thanks to all of them for being great representatives of EGMT.
