Four students of EGMT participated in the 2022 edition of Zilina Model United Nations, held from 23-25 March at Mestsky Urad in Zilina.
Michal Kisel was a chair of the UN Environment Programme, whose task was to solve the issue of nuclear waste in Polynesia. Anna Malá represented Afghanistan at a joint meeting of UN Women and the Arab Committee. This committee discussed the marital rights of women in the Arab world. Pavol Tomica and Marek Valčo participated at the Historical Security Council as delegates of India and North Korea (DPRK) respectively. The task of this committee was to imagine that the year was 1950 and to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict on the Korean peninsula.
Later in the week, the General Assembly modelled the Cop 27 Conference.
The conference was attended in-person by around 50 students from seven European countries, with a further two committees meeting online.
Marek Valčo was presented with two awards at the end of the conference; best delegate at the Historical Security Council, and outstanding delegate at the General Assembly. All four students played important roles and were excellent representatives of EGMT.
